8 teams remain in the hunt for the Henderson Cup

Only 8 teams remain in the hunt for the Henderson Cup! This weekend was action packed with six quarter final playoff series wrapping up in SHA Senior A Hockey Provincial Playoffs:

Wakaw Lakers defeated the Wynyard Senior Monarchs on Friday Feb 16 by a score of 2-1 to win the best of the three series 2-0. Wakaw will advance to the North Semi Finals to play Prairie Outlaws Hockey (Waldheim).

On Friday Feb 16 the Waldheim Prairie Outlaws emerged victorious in a tight 4-3 win over the Watrous Winterhawks. The Prairie Outlaws will advance to the North Semi finals to take on the Wakaw Lakers.

The Southey Marlins lost to the Balgonie Bisons Hockey Club in game 2 on Friday night by a score of 8-2. The Bison will advance to the South Semi Finals to play their QVHL rivals the Grenfell Spitfires.

The Cupar Canucks traveled to Grenfell, Saskatchewan on Saturday night to play the Spitfires in Game 2 of their three game series. Grenfell came away with a one sided 7-0 win, taking the series 2-0 and will advance to the South Semi finals vs Balgonie.

Saturday also saw the Wilkie Outlaws skate to a 4-1 win in Game 2 over the Hillmond Hitmen. The Outlaws will advance to the North Semi Finals to challenge the Hague Royals Hockey Club in a three game series.

The Milestone Flyers took the Lumsden Monarchs the distance forcing a Game 3 by winning 8-4 at home on Saturday night. Game 3 on Sunday Feb 18 came down to the final period where the Monarch edged the Flyers with 3 third period goals to comeback to win by a score of 5-4. The Monarchs will advance to the South Semi Finals to take on the Kindersley Red Lions Hockey Club.
