24 year old Regina Man is facing charges after a home invasion involving bear spray

On Tuesday, November 3, 2020 police were dispatched to residence in the 1100 block of Robinson Street. Early information suggested a male had walked into the home demanding drugs and when he was told there were none, and that he was in the wrong home, he discharged bear spray and fled the residence. When police arrived, the victim indicated that she had seen the suspect run into a nearby residence. While police searched the area, they learned of a potential second victim from another location in the area. A short time later, police observed two men in the front window of a home on the 1100 block of Robinson Street – one appeared to match the suspect description. The two males were taken into police custody - one was later released without charges. None of the victims required medical treatment.

Twenty-four year-old MATTHEW THOMPSON of Regina is charged with:

Break and Enter with Intent [348(1)(a) CC]

Breach of Condition of Release Order [145 (5)(a) CC]

THOMPSON made his first appearance on these charges this morning (Wednesday, November 4, 2020) in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m.
