Multiple Stabbings on 800 Block 20th St. West Saskatoon

Members of the SPS Serious Assault Unit have charged a suspect, who was believed to be under the influence of methamphetamine at the time, in connection to two stabbings that occurred yesterday.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., November 3, 2020, Patrol officers responded to a report of a stabbing at an apartment building in the 800 block of 20th Street West. Upon arrival, officers located two men who were suffering from serious but non-life threatening stab wounds. It was reported that both men had been stabbed, in separate incidents, by an unknown male who had entered the apartment building. Medavie Health Services transported both victims to hospital.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., November 4, 2020, SPS returned to the apartment building after an individual reported being approached by a man who claimed to have stabbed two people earlier. The unknown man also threatened to harm them, too. This individual was not injured and the suspect fled on foot. Police located a male sleeping in front of the building. This male matched the suspect description and began to walk away, prior to officers arresting him. He refused to provide his name was believed to be under the influence of methamphetamine. A modified knife was located in his backpack and blood on his clothing.

A 26-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, Obstruction and Breach of Probation. Further charges are pending as the investigation continues.
