Regina Male Charged with Possession of Stolen Auto & Breach

A 30 year-old Regina male is charged in connection with a stolen auto incident in Regina last night (Thursday). The stolen vehicle is a 1994 Honda Accord, which was reported stolen from the 400 block of St. John Street on Wednesday, November 25th.

On Thursday, November 26, 2020, at about 8:35 p.m., an officer with the RPS stolen auto unit, spotted a maroon-colored Honda, which matched the description of a vehicle reported stolen the day before. The officer was in the 1900 block of Atkinson Street and watched the vehicle park on nearby Broder Street. The officer kept the vehicle under observation while other plainclothes officers came to assist. A spike belt was successfully deployed, resulting in the male driver abandoning the vehicle a short time later in the 1000 block of Montague Street. The suspect driver fled on foot and was located, a few yards over, by a canine team. He was arrested and charged without further incident.

Thirty-year-old Dustin Martin Lyle MORIN, of Regina is charged with:
 
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 [355(b) CC]; and
 
- Fail to Comply with a court-ordered condition of release [145(5)(a) CC].


 
MORIN was released on an undertaking to appear in Provincial Court on January 12, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.
