Marcel Legault was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. I fell in love with hockey at the age of ten. His highest levels of play were at the high school A and college level. He has coached at all ages and levels; I started at 16 with his father and fell in love with teaching and helping those learn the game. He started coaching at higher levels around seven years ago and throughout those years he has coached both Midget A, and AA levels. Before moving here to Saskatchewan he was about to be an assistant coach with his former college team the Centennial Colts.
"To be honest I never thought that coaching could lead to a career. I coach because I enjoy it and love teaching the game. That being said I have never ruled it out and the more I am involved with hockey here in Saskatchewan the more that dream can become a reality. " said Leagult
"After moving here I volunteered at the Ochapowace Summer Games and didn’t realized I was about to embark on a wonderful new beginning. This volunteer job led me to coach the Ochapowace Jr B Thunder of th Prairie Junior Hockey League as well as being an instructor at the Ochapowace Sports Academy. Last spring I was an assistant coach with the Bantam Zone 4 team in the Sask First Showcase and this past season I coached Midget AA with the Prairie Storm in Balgonie, SK of the South Saskatchewan Midget AA Hockey League. "
"My philosophy is pretty simple. As a hockey coach the objective is simple; bring a group together through a structured system with the goal to be successful. To instill a good work ethic through action and effort, while building a team mentality. My goal is to build a team that works hard both on and off the ice. To help mold these young men, the player, into achievers with the mind set that success comes with effort and teamwork. Hard work beats talent."
