Two people were arrested early this morning after refusing to stop for Police.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., December 3, 2020, Police observed a stolen 2013 Infiniti JX35 in the 500 block of Avenue X South. A traffic stop was attempted, but the driver fled at a high rate of speed. Officers located the vehicle abandoned in the 200 block of J.J. Thiessen Crescent. A Canine track was conducted and a male and female suspect were located hiding in a camper van nearby. They were apprehended with the assistance of the Police Service Dog (PSD).

Medavie Health Services attended to treat the male suspect’s minor injury caused by a dog bite. The two were then transported to Detention. Another female suspect who had fled in a cab, was also located and arrested. She was later released without charges.
