Emerald Park Doctor Charged With Sexual Assault

A 45 year-old Emerald Park male is facing charges of sexual assault after investigation into allegations involving a chiropractor, during his practice in Regina.

These incidents involve two adult female victims. In the case of one victim, the offences are alleged to have occurred between January 28, 2012 and June 1, 2016. The Regina Police Service received these allegations on April 7, 2021. The second victim contacted Regina Police on April 10, 2021, to make report of alleged sexual offences between April, 2019 and August, 2019. In each of these instances, the victims reported inappropriate and unwanted actions by the same male suspect in the course of chiropractic treatments. The actions described could not be categorized as a necessary part of the treatment sought by the victims. Investigation into these matters led to the arrest, on April 13, 2021, of a 45 year-old Emerald Park male.

Forty-five year-old Dr. Ruben Adam MANZ, of Emerald Park, SK., is charged with two counts of Sexual Assault, contrary to Section 271 of the Criminal Code.

According to the business’s website, Manz owns and operates Argyle Natural Health Centre in Regina, SK with his wife Dr. Katherine Cheah, N.D.

SNN : White Butte News reached out to the Chiropractors’ Association of Saskatchewan (CAS) who responded with an emailed statement.

“We are unable to comment regarding Dr. Manz while these charges are proceeding through the judicial process and our internal investigation process,” CAS said Wednesday.

“The CAS is currently reviewing this matter in light of public safety and will take appropriate actions, as necessary, according to our legislation.”

MANZ was released on conditions, with a court date of August 10, 2021, at 9:30 a.m.
