Fort Qu'appelle Man charged with Dangerous Driving in North West Regina

A 29 year-old male is facing charges in connection with dangerous driving and evading police after an incident that occurred in the early-morning hours of Friday, December 11, 2020.

At about 4:50 a.m. on December 11th, police members on patrol in the area of Elphinstone Street and 3rd Avenue, spotted a suspicious vehicle. The police unit activated emergency equipment at Sherwood Drive and McCarthy Boulevard, in an attempt to stop the vehicle, but it drove away.

A short time later, when officers were able to deploy a spike belt, the vehicle fled again, disobeying traffic signals and driving at high speeds. The vehicle finally came to a stop in a field, west of Pinkie Road and the driver fled from the vehicle.

The suspect was taken into custody with the help of a canine team and was then transported to hospital for treatment of a canine bite.

Twenty-nine year-old Theoren Wendell PASQUA, of the Fort Qu’Appelle District, is charged with:

  • Flight from Peace Officer [320.17 CC];

  • Operate Conveyance Dangerous to Public [321.12(1) CC]; and

  • Fail to Comply with Conditions of Release Order [145(5)(a) CC].

PASQUA made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
