Nipawin volunteer fire department were response free in 2026 for exactly 24 hours and 22 minutes!

Jan 2nd 00:22 am NFD were toned out for a vehicle vs building on centre street.

Investigations and inspections were ongoing all day long and it was determined prudent to shut down both the building and a portion of the street as a precaution until an engineering report can conclusively determine the structures’ safety.

A second MVC occurred in the evening at 17:12 on 2nd avenue east which was followed Jan 3rd by an MVC west of Pontrillas at 02:57 am and just like that we are clicking along at a call a day pace!

Just a reminder folks that until both the Towns Public Works and Highways Departments can get caught up with the RELENTLESS snowfall please drive with caution!

The Saskatoon Police is asking for public assistance in locating a missing 20-year-old woman. Azairah Jayne Isbister-Daniels was last seen on December 24, 2025, but has had some contact with family as recently as January 1, 2026.
