The province announced that more than a dozen community airports have benefited from the Community Airport Partnership in the last year, a new record for Saskatchewan.
For the 2020-21 budget, the province chipped in $1.5 million towards 15 community airport projects. The extra funds came from the government’s two-year $7.5 billion stimulus program.
Some of the communities that benefited from the program include Humboldt, Leader, Melfort, North Battleford, Unity, Weyburn and Wynyard.
Under the program, communities can request up to $275,000 in grants for rehabilitation and improvements.
The program is cost-shared with the communities that benefit.
