SASKATOON SK - As Kayvon Khoshkam's contract term nears its end, Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan (SOTS) recognizes Khoshkam's transformative leadership since 2022.
During his tenure, Kayvon expanded the festival’s artistic scope, introducing rarely staged works such as Richard II, alongside contemporary plays and world premiers including Done/Undoneand The Dark Lady, and reimagining classics like Hamlet, Romeo & Juliet, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. His bold curatorial vision reinvigorated the festival and engaged new audiences while thrilling long-time patrons.
To ensure continuity during this period of transition, Kayvon will remain with SOTS in a contracted role as Festival Producer until early 2026, while the Board begins the search for the next Artistic Director.
“On behalf of the Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan community, we thank Kayvon for his remarkable contributions during his three-year term with the festival and wish him every success in his next artistic endeavours. We look forward to building on his legacy as we welcome new artistic leadership in 2026,” said SOTS Board Chair Cera Youngson.“Serving as Artistic Director has been one of the highlights of my life. Working alongside such extraordinary artists, staff, and volunteers has been a privilege I’ll always carry with me,” said Kayvon Khoshkam.
