Three Charged Following Weapons Offence and Assault in Regina

On Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at approximately 1:50 a.m., police were called to a business on the 1800 block of 9th Avenue North for a report of a weapons offence involving a firearm. Information received indicated that two males were running up and down the street wielding a shotgun. The caller told police the suspects hid the firearm behind a garbage bin before the individuals entered the business.

Officers arrived on scene and located a sawed-off shotgun behind a garbage bin. They located two males inside the business matching the suspect descriptions. They were arrested and taken into custody without further incident. A short time later, a third male suspect was located walking down Broad Street North. A search of the suspect, subsequent to arrest, revealed a sawed-off rifle.

Moments before the call for service in the 1800 block of 9th Avenue North, officers traveling southbound on Broad Street were flagged down by a rideshare driver who told police he was transporting three males when he was assaulted and then threatened with what appeared to be a machete. He stopped his vehicle on Broad Street near 5th Avenue North and ordered the suspects to get out, which they did.

Investigation determined that one of the males arrested in connection with the weapons offence in the 1800 block of 9th Avenue North was also the suspect who had assaulted the rideshare driver.

As a result of this investigation, 18 year-old Noah BLIND, is charged with:

Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)];

Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm [CC 95(1)];

Unauthorized Possession of Firearm in Motor Vehicle [CC 94(1)]; and

2 x Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)].

BLIND made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court yesterday morning (September 30, 2025) at 9:30 a.m.

Nineteen year-old Dreden MCNAB, is charged with:

Carrying Concealed Weapon [CC 90]; and

Fail to Comply with Disposition [YCJA 137].
