CP Rail and Yorkton RCMP have confirmed there has been a fatality on its tracks in Yorkton involving a male youth who cannot be named at this time. On September 10, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a freight train struck an individual on the tracks near the Broadway Street crossing. A spokesperson for CP would not give any other details. Neither CP Rail or RCMP could not say why the male youth was on the tracks, but the RCMP said there was no indication of foul play.
