Grasslands National Park Burrowing Owls need your help!

These adorable birds are an Endangered species in Canada, and it’s easy to see why we can’t get enough of them. Wondering where you might view Burrowing Owls nesting in the park? Often in the ready-made burrows on Black-tailed Prairie Dog colonies — talk about prime real estate!
To give them the best chance of survival, they need space to roost, hunt, and raise their young. If you’re viewing owls in the park, please:
Stay on designated roads and trails
Keep at least 100 m away
Limit viewing time to 15 minutes
Pro tip: Viewing from your car can act as a “blind” and help minimize disturbance—but remember to keep visits short so adult owls can continue foraging for their families.
