Saskatoon man evading police on foot attempted to hide in a snowbank on 300 block Avenue U South

A Saskatoon man is facing a number of charges after refusing to stop for Police last night.

At approximately 9:10 p.m., November 17, 2020, officers on Patrol observed a suspicious, red Chevrolet Lumina at 21st Street West and Avenue S South. A traffic stop was attempted, but the driver refused to stop for Police. The male driver abandoned the car in the 300 block of Avenue U South and fled on foot. A male passenger was located inside the vehicle and was released without charges.


A Canine track led officers to a backyard in the 300 block of Avenue V South where the suspect driver was attempting to hide in a snowbank. He was taken into custody without incident and found to be in possession of an imitation firearm. He also had numerous outstanding warrants.


A 46-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with Evade Police, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Carry Concealed Weapon and Breach of Undertaking.
