Three Youth Charged Following Firearm Offence

On Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a firearm being discharged at a business in the 800 block of Victoria Avenue. The caller reported seeing several individuals flee the area following the incident.
While officers were obtaining information from the reporting party, additional responding units learned that the suspects were traveling in a vehicle. Officers subsequently located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Garnet Street. All three occupants were taken into custody without incident. As a result of this investigation,
A 15 year-old male youth, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act is charged with:
Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations [CC 86(2)];
Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94(1)(a)(ii)];
Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Readily Accessible Ammunition [CC 95(1)];
Attempt Break and Enter Business [CC 348(1)(A)];
Disguise with Intent [CC 351(2)];
Fail to Comply with Disposition [YCJA 137];
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)];
3 x Possession of a Weapon [CC 88];
3 x Carrying Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)]; and
Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(2)].
The youth made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court this morning, December 29, 2025 at 9:30 a.m.
A 16 year-old female youth, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act is charged with:
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [CC 91(1)];
Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations [CC 86(2)];
Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Motor Vehicle [CC 94(1)(a)(ii)];
Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Readily Accessible Ammunition [CC 95(1)];
Attempt Break and Enter Business [CC 348(1)(A)]; and
Disguise with Intent [CC 351(2)].
