2025 Sask. Senior ‘A’ Hockey Championship goes to Game 3

The Kenaston Blizzards kept their Senior “A” hockey championship run alive by defeating the Round Lake Bears 7-5 Saturday on Ochapowace First Nation.
Bears defenceman Ryan Stanton opened up scoring early in the first period. Blizzards winger Levi Cable followed up by scoring two goals to take a 2-1 lead to end the first period.
Kenaston hit the ground running to start the second period – with forward Jordan Tkatch scoring on a powerplay followed by another goal by Kade Kehle. The Blizzards held a 4-1 lead going into the third period.
The Bears rallied back in the third – scoring a total of four goals – three of which were on a power play.
Hundreds of fans showed up for Game 2 of the Saskatchewan Senior A Hockey Championship on Ochapowace First Nation.
However, the fight was not one sided, as the Blizzards also recorded three goals – securing the win 7-5 by game’s end.
The Blizzards are looking to repeat their championship win of 2024 - while the town also secured the “D” Championship in 2023 and 2022.
Game 1 of the series saw the Bears decisively beat the Blizzards 8-4 on home turf - a performance that they will surely hope to repeat.
The best-of-3 series for the Senior “A” Championship will conclude Sunday in Kenaston at 6:00 p.m.
The Round Lake Bears fell to the Blizzards 7-5 on home turf. The Championship Series will wrap up with Game 3 in Kenaston on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
